I'm also planning on publishing original fic at some point. Do you mean that you don't archive on Skyhawke or FA or anything like that? I didn't realize that there were possible legal issues involved in archiving and such. *gets a bit nervous*

If you don't mind me continuing to pick your brain (my brother is not a lawyer lol), do you know of any other issues as far as participating/writing fic in fandom and eventually publishing original work?
